Did you know that stress plays a big part in the onsett and continuation of irritable bowel syndrome?
It's amazing that your digestive system contains just as many nerve endings as your entire spinal cord. If you are stressed, tense, or anxious your body is in survival mode, assimilation and digestion will be slower. Thus, the nutrients in your food will not be utilised properly, and the waste not disposed of properly. Simply put, your body will not operate well.
One thing that will happen is your intestines will hold food in pockets and it will fester. You will feel uncomfortable, bloated, constipated, your weight will increase, and you will feel lethargic. Your body will be working overtime to do jobs that should be easy.
